Our streamlined approach begins with a pre-screen which leads to onboarding – we invest time in comprehensive screening ensuring only the most qualified professionals advance, combining skill assessments and rigorous background checks. Finally, candidates are placed on a Road Map To The UK, a personalized program designed to: train and enhance candidate qualification for work in the UK, match candidates with suitable roles in hospitals and finally deliver candidates and their families to the UK.

Step 1: Pre-Screen / Self – Screen

Pre-screen / Self-Screen

Global Nurse Search evaluates candidates before they are onboard. If a candidate doesn’t meet the minimum requirement,s we can’t take them into the program.

Compulsory Requirements:

  1. Nursing Degree or Nursing Diploma
  2. 1 Year Relevant Experience*

*If you are in active employment and will have 1 year of experience by the time you have met all subsequent criteria on the road map to the UK, we can begin the onboarding process.

Step 2: Onboarding Stage

The onboarding process is where we take a candidate on as a client, and verify their candidate profile.

*Global Nurse Search provides a service of placing candidates in UK hospitals, candidates may be subject to service fees. We charge these fees to ensure that clients get the very best services and that the hospitals get the very best candidates.

Creating a candidate profile is a crucial step in assisting us in selling your profile to UK hospitals. It involves Global Nurse Search compiling and presenting information that accurately reflects your professional qualifications, skills, experiences, and personal attributes.

Candidate Profile Format:

  1. Video Bio: Candidates are given the option to sell themselves to prospective hospitals
  2. Written Bio: Candidates have a written profile created by Global Nurse Search.

Below is the information we collect:

  1. Personal Information: Start with basic details like your name, contact information (email, phone number), and a professional photograph if appropriate.
  2. Professional Summary: Write a brief introduction that encapsulates your professional identity, and career goals.
  3. Work Experience: List your past employment, starting with the most recent. Include job titles, company names, and dates of employment. For each role, provide a brief description of your responsibilities and achievements. Use specific examples and quantify achievements where possible.
  4. Educational Background: Detail your educational qualifications, including the names of institutions, degrees obtained, majors, and years of graduation. You can also include relevant coursework, academic honours, or extracurricular activities.
  5. Skills and Competencies: Highlight specific skills that make you a suitable candidate. These can include technical skills, language proficiency, soft skills (like communication or leadership), and any other relevant competencies.
  6. Certifications and Licenses: If applicable, list any professional certifications, licenses, or ongoing training that are relevant to your field.

Candidate profile verification is a process undertaken by Global Nurse Search to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the information provided by job applicants in their profiles, resumes, or during interviews. This process is crucial to maintain the integrity of the hiring process and to ensure that candidates are qualified for the positions they’re applying for.

  1. Education Verification: This involves confirming the candidate’s educational qualifications. Global Nurse Search will contact educational institutions directly or use third-party verification services to validate degrees, certificates, and academic achievements.
  2. Employment History Check: Employers verify previous employment details, including job titles, dates of employment, and job responsibilities. Global Nurse Search will contact former employers or refer to employment verification services.
  3. Reference Checks: References provided by the candidate, typically former employers, colleagues, or academic advisors, are contacted. The purpose is to gather insights about the candidate’s work ethic, skills, accomplishments, and behaviour.
  4. Criminal Background Check: This check is conducted to identify any criminal history. The extent of these checks can vary based on local laws and the nature of the job.
  5. Identity Verification: This ensures that the candidate is indeed who they claim to be. It involves checking government-issued IDs, social security numbers, or other relevant documents.
  6. Professional License and Certification Verification: For positions requiring specific licenses or certifications, the validity and status of these credentials are verified with the issuing organizations.
  7. International Checks: For candidates who have studied, lived, or worked abroad, international background checks might be conducted.

Stage 3: Road Map To UK

The ‘Road Map To UK’  is a breakdown of steps that take you from an onboarded candidate to a UK VISA Holding UK Based Nurse

To be accepted on the USA Visa and be sponsored you must demonstrate English Competency

You will be required to pass the IELTS.

Global Nurse Support

  • We can provide training materials for the candidate to train with before the exam.
  • We provide study groups

Time Line

  • For acquiring a good band score in IELTS, a duration of 1-2 months is ideal. Allotting at least 2 hours of practice a day is crucial for overall performance. With the right plan and focused preparation, you can improve your performance.
  • The 1-2 months is a common estimate, however, depending on your starting point and work ethic it can be much quicker.

(Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) – Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Test of Competence)

The applicant must have booked or passed the CBT with a validity of 12 months


The NMC uses a computer-based test to test the competence (skills and knowledge) of people applying to join our register from overseas.

The CBT is split into two parts: Part A covers numeracy, and Part B covers clinical questions for nursing or midwifery.

  • Interviews will be arranged within a week subject to the availability of the candidate and hospital manager.
  • Decisions on candidates are usually made within a week or two.

Candidates accept the job and negotiate the terms of employment.

The candidate signs the employment contract with the hospital.

Candidates can expect an initial salary offer of £25,000+

The UK Hospital sponsors the candidate.

*The UK government is changing rules on bringing dependents, However, Global Nurse Search can assist with this

Time Line

Visa processing time is from 1 month to 6 months. This also depends on the service centre.

The UK Visa is granted.

The next steps are:

  1. Fly to the UK
  2. Move into accommodation
  3. Start work
